Emmaus-based convenience store and gas station operator, Top Star Express, recently announced its intentions to open two new Subway stores in its properties, one at 1434 Knox Ave in Forks Township which is slated to start serving the iconic sandwiches early next month, while another at 1570 Main St in Hellertown is still “probably a year off,” according to recent reporting by local media outlet, WFMZ.
Top Star Express president, Joseph Stark, confirmed the news during a brief phone conversation with What Now Philadelphia, but was unable to provide further comment at the time.
A company representative had not yet returned a request for comment by press time.
According to WFMZ, Stark said that the Hellertown outpost will require a “major addition to the building,” adding, “We’re telling everyone to just be a little more patient.”
Likewise, it was noted that the location will be “relocated” from an existing Top Star Express-operated Subway that was formerly at Creekside Marketplace in Lower Saucon Township.
Stark founded Top Star Express in 1989, driven by the desire to establish a community-focused convenience store and gas station “where customers feel right at home,” according to the company’s website. Today, the brand operates more than 25 locations around Eastern Pennsylvania, each one predicated on the mission of fostering “the growth and the development of our team members, our business, and our communities by delivering ‘Convenience Done Right’ with family values and integrity.”
