A DC favorite is preparing to sprinkle a little extra spice on the City of Brotherly Love. Knead Hospitality + Design is bringing Mi Vida, its wildly popular Mexican concept, to Philadelphia, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The restaurant group will be making its Philly debut on the ground floor of 1100 Ludlow Street. An East Market leasing brochure suggests that Mi Vida will have a dedicated 6, 686 square feet, alongside MOM’s Organic Market. It is still too early in the project’s development to estimate an opening timeline; however the restaurant will certainly not be open to the public until 2025 at the earliest.

The Center City Mi Vida location will allow the critically acclaimed Knead to spread its cuisine beyond the District’s borders; the Philly restaurant will be the hospitality group’s first non-DC storefront.

The passion project of celebrated chef Roberto Santibañez, Mi Vida currently has 3 DC locations. Philadelphians can look forward to enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine prepared with care and respect for history and culture. The website describes it as: “It is our expression of Mexican culture and cuisine as interpreted through the lens of Chef Roberto Santibañez. Our menu is rooted in the history and culinary tradition of Mexico while exploring the ever-changing boundaries of this vibrant and evolving cuisine.”
