SmashBros., a popular New Jersey smash burger spot, is opening its third location in Philadelphia, about a half-mile from the iconic Rocky Balboa statue.

“After many months of planning we’re extremely excited to be coming to Philly! Finding the right location at the heart and center took time but all good things come to those who wait. Stay tuned for more details!” the restaurant shared via Instagram.

The shop is opening inside University Fair Food Co., a food hall at 330 Fairmount Ave. They operate the other outposts in Glassboro and Runnemede.

“Honestly, it’s a joy. It’s going from nothing into something. It’s a dream that has turned into a reality from when I was a young kid. I started in the restaurant industry as a young kid. I’m thankful to my cousins who allowed me to learn the industry with restaurants they own. I was able to establish myself in the industry and learn the whole outcome on how a restaurant should be ran,” the owner said on Instagram.

SmashBros. is known for its smash burgers, including the single-patty Bro Burger and double-patty Double Bro, both topped with cheese, fried onions, pickles and burger sauce. The menu also includes a Mac & Cheese Smash, Spicy Smash and Impossible Smash Burger. Beyond burgers, the joint offers cheesesteaks with Cooper Sharp cheese and fried onions, as well as chicken wings and tenders.

“At the end of the day seeing somebody eat your food, enjoying it and coming back–there’s no better feeling because we know we worked hard to put the product together and to source the products and make them what they are today,” the owner said.

SmashBros. aims to expand nationwide, targeting 500 locations in the future.

“Once we know where our market is, our strongest markets based on the analytics, we’ll be able to say, ‘All right, we can go put a location here.’ And we’ll do sufficient,” the owner said.

Although the official opening date hasn’t been announced, check the restaurant’s website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for updates.

What Now Philadelphia reached out to the SmashBros. team, however, they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
