There are certain chefs in the culinary world whose names alone inspire excitement and confidence when spoken in conjunction with a new restaurant. Chef Amanda Shulman has earned incredible acclaim and recognition from no less than the James Beard award, so it is no surprise that her new project is generating a great deal of buzz, even without a name or stated direction. While details are sparse, Shulman and her team at the Libbie Loup Hospitality have signed a lease and are hard at work developing their next concept, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

A representative speaking on behalf of Libbie Loup confirmed that the group inked a lease for a 2227 Pine Street space last week. There is no information available yet about what kind of cuisine the restaurant will be serving, however Philadelphia won’t have to wait too long to discover what’s in store; Shulman is hoping to have the eatery up and running towards the end of the year, provided the construction timeline plays out according to plan. The storefront will provide Libbie Loup with 1,400 to 1,500 square feet of space in which to set up its newest endeavor.

Founded and owned by Shulman and her husband and partner Alex Kemp, Libbie Loup is the force behind acclaimed restaurants Her Place Supper Club and My Loup. This third concept is certain to further cement Shulman, Kemp, and Libbie Loup as Philadelphia culinary royalty.
