One of Philly’s most celebrated restaurateurs will be helping the city kick off the summer on a delicious foot. The incredibly prolific and acclaimed Stephen Starr is bringing his newest concept, Borromini, to the neighborhood later this year, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Described as “the Italian version of Parc”, the restaurant will be taking over the space at 1805 Walnut Street that previously housed a Barnes and Nobles. A precise opening date is not yet available for the Rittenhouse Square trattoria, however Borromini is hoping to begin greeting and serving guests in early summer of 2025.

The building will allow Starr and company plenty of space to welcome hungry Philadelphians; Borromini is slated to occupy 13,000 square feet across two floors of the three story location. The eatery will be able to accommodate around 174 patrons indoors. Visitors can look forward to enjoying outdoor dining in fair weather; the al fresco seating brings the full capacity up to 298 visitors.
