The Pierogie Kitchen in Philadelphia’s Roxborough neighborhood will relocate to Ambler this fall.

Its new home will be Ridge Hall, a food hall blending culinary creativity, craft drinks and community. The space features more than 10 food concepts and The Mercantile, a 5,500-square-foot upstairs area with communal seating that can also be rented by vendors or groups.

Owner Marie Thorpe said she had been searching for a larger location.

“We were looking for something that had a good amount of parking, good amount of seating and adult beverages that required us to not have to have a liquor license. We looked at a few places and then we found Ridge Hall. Actually, they kind of found us. It just seemed to be the best of both worlds,” Thorpe told What Now Philadelphia.

Thorpe said she’s eager for the move to Ambler, a community feeling like home to her.

“It’s a quaint town. It’s really quintessential America, working class Americans. It’s safe. You see families walking around and there’s a college nearby. It’s just alive. It really reminds me of Roxborough, which is where I was born and raised. It struck a home feel to me,” she said

The Pierogie Kitchen will operate two stalls inside the hall. One will feature the shop’s frozen products, including stuffed cabbage, soups, haluski, babka and rye bread. The other will serve hot dishes, with favorites such as pierogies, sandwiches, salads and desserts.

The pierogies are made from a generations-old recipe, following a 16-step process to roll, stuff, pinch and cook each one to perfection..

The Pierogie Kitchen is currently building out its production space and an official opening date has not yet been announced.

“Once that is done and we can actually produce pierogies, that will determine when we can open at Ridge Hall,” Thorpe said.

For grand opening updates, visit the shop’s website or follow on Instagram and Facebook.
