Philadelphia diners are about to get a taste of culinary innovation. Wonder, a distinctive and unusual concept on the cutting edge of the restaurant industry, will begin serving the City of Brotherly Love this year, reports The Philadelphia Business Journal.
The unique foodhall hybrid will be setting up base in the One Thousand One development building, located-appropriately enough-at 1001 South Broad Street. Wonder will have a dedicated 4,084 square feet on the ground floor to dole out its fare.
Wonder will be a completely new dining experience for most Philly foodies. The New York based food hall allows customers to select and order made-to-order dishes from a variety of acclaimed restaurants simultaneously. The model leans into delivery and pick-up, though some locations offer an element of in-house dining.
Despite still being a relatively new entrant into the culinary world, Wonder has already made quite a splash. The concept-which describes itself as “fast fine dining”-was established in 2018 and now has storefronts across Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, and a sole Pennsylvania location in Quakertown.
However, Wonder won’t be a stranger to the Keystone State for long. In addition to the South Broad eatery- which has no specific opening date lined up but is anticipating feeding guests at some point in 2025-the foodhall is developing a location in Fishtown.
