A local caffeine dealer is brewing up a second location this fall.
Potheads Coffee House, created in honor of owner Faith Noga’s late daughter, Mila, and family member William, is opening its second location in Jenkintown.
“We strive to keep both of their memories alive and well, and had you had the chance to meet them, our vibe and theme would be crystal clear. Mila & William unfortunately left us too soon, but their memory is celebrated daily with our team and family,” the shop’s website reads.
Noga and her brother-in-law, Chris Watson, operate the original Bensalem location. She and her manager, Maggie, will oversee the opening of the new location.
“I brought Maggie in. She was a waitress, working in food service for a few years. I found someone who really wants a piece of this business and to grow with us,” Noga told What Now Philadelphia. “I wasn’t looking for something at the moment, but then a customer sent the flyer about the Jenkintown location. It just kind of fell in my lap.”
The menu will remain mostly the same, with a few additions planned for the future.
Coffee lovers can expect signature drinks such as “The Dark Side”, a chocolate and raspberry latte; the “French Toast Latte”, made with spiced brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon; “The Sea Monkey”, a banana latte topped with whipped cream, caramel sea salt and a chocolate drizzle; and “The Crush”, a white chocolate strawberry macchiato.
Food options include the “Big Mama Breakfast”, which comes with two eggs, a slice of French toast, a hash brown patty and a choice of meat, and “The Hangover”, made with two fried eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage and pork roll on a choice of bread. The shop also recently added flatbread pizzas to the menu, with options such as Mediterranean, barbecue and caprese.
Noga said she looks forward to introducing the shop’s flatbread pizzas to the Jenkintown community.
“They’re going to be a big hit. I’m expecting that to be bigger in Jenkintown because there’s not really a pizza place in the complex. I can see the flatbread really taking off,” she said.
Pot Heads plans to host similar events at the new location, including its popular character meet-and-greets. Past events have featured a coffee date with Michael Myers, and for the holidays, the shop is planning special appearances by Krampus and Jack Skellington.
“We don’t do your typical stuff; there’s always a dark twist to what we do,” Noga said.
The shop also plans to offer tarot cards, crystals and incense throughout the year.
“We’re thinking because the space is so much bigger that we could actually keep that going all year in Jenkintown, especially because a lot of people are more into meditation and healing. It will be a little shop. The plan is to actually offer readings and events based on that as well,” she said.
The new location will follow the same hours as the Bensalem shop, opening Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, the shop will be closed on weekends, though Saturdays will be available for private event rentals.
Pot Heads Coffee House will open its Jenkintown location in mid-November. Customers can get updates on the shop’s website or by following its Instagram and Facebook accounts.
