Raceway Bagels and Steaks, a local favorite for bagels and cheesesteaks, is set to open a second location this fall.
Owned by Steve Capers and his wife Ree, the shop will debut on Route 541 in Burlington Township. Known for putting a modern twist on classic dishes, Raceway has built a loyal following and is now expanding its reach.
“We’re renowned for our cheesesteaks. They have us plastered on the Cheesesteak Gurus Facebook page, and people rave about the cheesesteaks,” Capers told What Now Philadelphia.
Some standout options include The Mac&Chz Cheesesteak, loaded with mac and cheese, Cooper Sharp cheese, ribeye and fried onions, and The Capital Cheesesteak, stacked with a full pound of ribeye, fried onions, sliced pork roll and Cooper Sharp. Capers said the shop is also preparing to debut a new Chili Cheesesteak this fall.
In addition to their signature cheesesteaks, the shop serves a wide range of bagels—from classics like plain, poppy, everything and cinnamon raisin to creative flavors such as blueberry crunch, jalapeño cheddar, sundried tomato, pumpernickel and even Fruity Pebbles.
They also serve signature breakfast sandwiches, including the Raceway Deluxe, made with two eggs any style, smashed potatoes, a double order of meat and plenty of melted cheese. Another favorite is the Lox Bagel, featuring smoked salmon on a bagel with plain cream cheese, fried capers, lettuce, tomato and raw onion.
“We like to spin things up and keep it interesting, not just for us, but for our customers as well,” Capers said.
For now, the original outpost at 421 Route 73 in Berlin offers the full lineup of unique bagel and cheesesteak combinations.
Although an official opening date hasn’t been announced, Capers expects the Raceway Bagels and Steaks Burlington location to launch in October. Updates will be shared on the shop’s website as well as on Instagram and Facebook.
