Raising Cane’s is bringing fresh, fast, made-to-order chicken to Deptford. The rapidly expanding chain will take over the lot located at 1860 Deptford Center Road, reports local media outlet 42Freeway.

Though the restaurant plans received approval in January, Don Pablo’s, which currently occupies the site, needs to be demolished before construction on Raising Cane’s can commence.

Fences have been erected around Don Pablo’s and the demolition is expected to begin this week. Raising Cane’s will take up markedly less space than Don Pablo’s. Once completed, the eatery will feature two drive-thru lanes, an outdoor eating location, and 42 parking spots.

Raising Cane’s started life in Louisiana in 1996. Since its humble beginnings, the brand has expanded to include more than 600 locations globally. The company has big plans for New Jersey, with locations planned for Glassboro, Washington Township, Marlton, and Cherry Hill, in addition to the Deptford site.

Raising Cane’s specializes in chicken fingers. The tenders are made-to-order and prepared fresh daily. The restaurant offers fresh coleslaw and crinkle cut fries as sides.

Raising Cane’s Deptford does not have an official opening date yet. However, since construction cannot begin until demolition is complete, the establishment will most likely open in early 2024.
