Jersey beer fans, get excited-something new is on the horizon. Skinny Flowers Brewing Co. is bringing great brews and a fun environment to Oceanport later this year, reports local media outlet Asbury Park Press.

The brand new brewery, helmed by husband-and-wife team Jim and Liz King, will be  opening as a part of the RiverWalk center development, a plum location certain to draw plenty of foot traffic.

The Kings have 6,000 square feet allotted at 1000 Sanger Avenue to craft and serve their beers. Speaking of his brewery’s inaugural location, Jim King states: “We looked at a lot of different places but we always knew that our Plan A and our Plan B was to go into Fort Monmouth for the simple fact that it’s a big redevelopment project. Netflix’s going there and we just really wanted to be there. We thought that was the right place to be for the next 20 years.”

The Kings will be working alongside head brewer Isaac Boucher to bring Oceanport beer aficionados their new favorite drafts. Those hoping for a meal to wash their drinks down with will have options as well; King explains “Our plan around food is to partner with local restaurants including in the RiverWalk Center and make it as convenient as possible for our guests to just come in and, whether it’s us or the restaurant, bringing food to them.”

While an opening date is not yet available for Skinny Flowers, construction is underway, and the company website assures enthusiastic followers that it will be “coming soon”.
