Philadelphia and Delaware are about to greet smoothie royalty. Popular chain Smoothie King has inked a deal to open three new locations in the greater Philadelphia area, reports The Philadelphia Business Journal.

Smoothie King’s vice president of franchise development, Shawn Caric, declined to disclose any specific locations for the future stores. However, Smoothie King authorities confirm that the chain’s first Delaware location will be included in the store’s three new spots.

Smoothie King is actively seeking out franchisees in the region. The chain is hoping to open between 40 and 50 storefronts within the next five years. The company is hoping to find several potential franchisees, with Caris stating “”Even if we did 10 openings a year, that would take us eight years to get there, so we’re looking for multiple partners to help us achieve that goal.”

Smoothie King opened its first location in 1973. Since its opening, the chain has ballooned to include more than 1,100 national spots and 1,300 global locations. As the name suggests, Smoothie King offers a wide range of delicious, fresh smoothies. The menu also includes smoothie bowls.
