An experienced hospitality veteran is setting out to prove to West Chester that live music and good food make great partners. Frank Herron, the restaurateur behind Saloon 151 Whiskey Bar & Grill, is opening a new concept called Station 142 in the region later this year, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The distinctive venue will be bringing dinner and songs to 142 East Market Street, a location that previously housed Serum Kitchen and Taphouse. The two-story building will allow Station 142 to offer rooftop dining, complete with a stunning panoramic view of the city. The al fresco accommodations will have space for around 80 guests.

The concept will cover 2 stories, with a cumulative 4,000 square feet for hosting visitors hungry for quality music and superior dining. The stage will be located on the ground floor, however the second story will feature dining rooms that allow guests to look down on a live performance.

Station 142 will have space for up to 250 customers.

Herron and partners Frank Eby, Melisa Marino, Rob Lalka, James Capello and Rich Fatori are enthusiastic about bringing something unique to the local dining and entertainment scene. Herron tells What Now Philadelphia: “We’re looking to showcase a lot of local talent from the West Chester area. It’s a vibrant restaurant community with many options. Live music is the only thing we were lacking, that’s where we saw a hole in the market and why we wanted to do this.”

Station 142 is aiming for an early to mid-April opening. Future regulars can look forward to sinking their teeth into an array of small dishes. Herron says that a first draft of the menu is complete and will be live on the website soon.

Station 142 is destined to become a major cultural gathering place for West Chester-it’s already attracting talent and is working on filling out its calendar. Herron states: “We have some bands booked all the way into next December. We’re still taking on acts.”
