A favorite at Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market is churning something bigger.

Sweet Nina’s, the female-and Black-owned business run by Nina Bryan, is known for its irresistible banana puddings in a variety of flavors. The shop earned “Best Pudding” honors from Philadelphia Magazine in 2019, and now fans can look forward to even more sweet treats as it prepares to expand.

The pudding shop is aiming for $1 million in revenue by year’s end. So far, it’s on track for a 20% increase over 2024, having already reached $600,000, according to The Philadelphia Business Journal.

The outlet added, to reach her goal, Bryan is in talks with potential partners, including a possible vending machine at the Hilton Garden Inn Philadelphia Center City and a pending deal with a Fortune 500 company. She also plans to expand her online distribution, open another storefront and grow beyond the city of Philadelphia.

Additionally, she wants to hire a social media manager, an operations manager and five full-time employees for the Reading Terminal Market location. Bringing on this team will give the pudding enthusiast more flexibility to promote the shop and engage with potential partners.

Sweet Nina’s currently offers 15 flavors, including classic, vanilla chocolate swirl, Nutter Butter (with or without chocolate), peach, caramel pecan and apple crisp, serving roughly 200 customers a day. The team also produces up to 6,000 cups of banana pudding.

“Amazingly good–that’s the best way to describe Sweet Nina’s banana pudding. This Southern classic dessert with a twist featuring a variety of flavors is exactly what your taste buds are craving!” the shop’s website reads.

The Reading Terminal Market location is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

What Now Philadelphia reached out to Bryan, however she has not yet responded. This article may be updated.
