The team behind one of Philly’s top Indian restaurants is trying its hand at a new American restaurant. Dhaya Kuselan and Ganesh Veeramani, the restaurateurs who founded Thanal Indian Tavern, are opening a brand new concept called Topside Tavern later this summer, reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The restaurant is aiming to cultivate the atmosphere of an American sports bar in its 10 South 20th Street location. Topside Tavern is taking over the 2,000 square foot space that formerly housed Farmer’s Keep. The building will allow the concept to serve up to 68 customers inside, with a rooftop deck that will accommodate up to 45 patrons.

Topside is hoping to open in July. The menu, while not firmly set, will feature interpretations of classic dishes, including a New York strip steak sandwich, salads, and burgers. The cozy atmosphere will feature furniture crafted in Lancaster and hopes to summon the comfort and serenity of that city.
