Two pairs of brothers are teaming up once again to bring a new restaurant to Haddon Township.

Brothers Artan and Arber Murtaj, along with Andi and Tony Lelaj, will open Duo Restaurant and Bar at 90 Haddon Ave. in the former Keg and Kitchen space. The group also operates Il Villaggio Restaurant and Bar.

“Duo was the perfect spot for us. It’s very close to our existing restaurant, and we used to go there as customers. We are good friends with the owners, husband and wife [Kevin and Janet Meeker],” Arber told What Now Philadelphia. “The name is a blend of things. It’s our second restaurant and we’re two sets of brothers.”

Duo will bring over popular dishes from Il Villaggio while offering a menu centered on small plates and tapas-style bites.

“We’re going to have carpaccios–filet mignon carpaccio, octopus carpaccio, our famous crab cake, homemade gnocchi. We’re going to have a seafood dish with Mediterranean fish. We’ll have daily specials like fresh oysters and shrimp cocktail,” Arber said.

The drink menu is still in the works, but he said it will differ from Il Villaggio’s offerings.

“We’ll probably have an old fashioned specialty, margarita specialty and mule specialty,” Arber said. “We’re going to do a vodka dolly as well.”

Duo’s interior will feature a modern, rustic look.

“There will be rustic wood tables with brown leather top chairs. We’re going to have a light cream color on the walls and have red brick around the restaurant,” he said.

The group looks forward to bringing their new concept to the area and continuing to immerse themselves in the community.

“We’ve been doing this our whole life. We are very known in the community. Our guests are also friends, not just clients. Same with our staff. We treat them like family,” Arber said.

No official opening date for Duo Restaurant and Bar has been announced; stay tuned for updates.
