A highly specific-but highly delicious-new concept is preparing to grace the halls of Reading Terminal Market. Wilt’s Chocolate Smothered Strawberries will be delivering precisely what the name promises when it opens in Philadelphia later this year, reports local media outlet Wooder Ice.
The eatery will be bringing its fresh fruit and melted chocolate to the intersection of aisles B and 2 in the 1336 Arch Street retail mecca. Wilt’s has a simple and straightforward model; customers receive a 16-ounce cup filled with freshly cut strawberries (local, when possible), which are then covered with high-quality milk chocolate.
Chocolate-covered strawberry enthusiasts can thank the local trio of Alex Flack, Nick Sordoni, and Stephen Hudacek for their next great obsession. The team also owns and operates a very different concept-they’re the franchisees behind three area Brooklyn Dumpling Shops.
In a press release provided to What Now Philadelphia, Sordoni explains why Wilt’s wanted to join its new neighborhood, stating: “We are very passionate about being part of Reading Terminal Market. All of us have been coming to the Market with our families for years, and we’re looking forward to being part of one of the most special places in the world.”
According to Wilt’s website, the establishment will open in June. Once the concept debuts, it will be open from 10 am to 6 pm daily.
