Husband and wife team Alex Alfaro and Uyen Nguyen will be adding another Berks County location of their popular boba tea concept later this summer. The new Winnie Tea Bar will be located at 3328 Plaza Drive, reports local media outlet WFMZ.

The original Winnie Tea Bar is located in West Reading. The location has enjoyed great success, encouraging  Alfaro and Nguyen to pursue additional store fronts.

Alfaro and Nguyen based the name “Winnie Tea Bar” on Nguyen’s childhood nickname.

Alfaro and Nguyen spoke to What Now Philadelphia about their new location and their ties to Berks County. “My wife is from Muhlenberg” Alfaro states, adding “and many of our clients and friends would like us to bring the concept to Muhlenberg.”

The Muhlenberg location has been in the works for quite awhile. Alfaro explains “We have been working on this particular shop since last July.”

The married duo also own Takkii Ramen, where they initially introduced customers to their teas. Winnie Tea Bar allows them to focus on the boba.

Winnie Tea Bar offers customers a wide range of beverages. The menu features milk tea, fresh fruit tea, super fruit tea, milkshakes, hot tea, coffee, and an array of desserts. Guests can customize their beverages’ sweetness level to match their palates.

Alfaro and Nguyen hope to open Winnie’s Muhlenberg home by the first week in July.

Visitors to Winnie Tea Bar are certain to find a drink to please their tastes, even if they are new to tea-drinking. Winnie’s staff is happy to guide customers Alfaro says, adding “We make so many things. We usually ask what you are looking for.”
