On May 29th, Fishtown is getting a new food hall. Wonder, the new school food hall known for its multi-restaurant ordering functionality, is opening at 23 W Girard Ave. with a grand opening party, and all of Philly is invited!
Known for its signature multi-restaurant ordering capabilities (you want pizza, your roommate wants a chicken sando – they can be ordered/delivered at the same time), the region is no stranger to Wonder following openings in KOP, Ardmore, West Chester and the Northeast, this marks Wonder’s first opening in the city and grand opening weekend will serve as an ongoing celebration of the rich culture, businesses, and individuals that comprise Fishtown.
A 4:30PM ribbon cutting kicks off the festivities and serves as an unveiling of a bespoke art installation curated by Fishtown’s Paradigm Gallery in partnership with local artist Roxana Azar, featuring their signature surreal dichroic plant sculptures running as a weeklong installation in the space. Additional art from Fabiola Lara’s cult-followed vending machines will be an ongoing fixture as well. With local art as a passion area for Wonder, partnerships with Fabiola and Paradigm Gallery span multiple locations. The evening will be rounded out with pop-ups from local DJs, beverage purveyors, swag giveaways (including a limited-edition Roxana Azar-designed tote), and, of course, bites from Wonder’s line-up of restaurants from some of the world’s best chefs including Bobby Flay, José Andres, Nancy Silverton and Marcus Samuelsson.
The celebration of Fishtown continues all weekend — Friday will feature a happy hour with Stateside from 5-7pm and Saturday will bring a pop-up from Trashed Vintage, coffee pours from Forin and build-your-own bouquets from Myrtle & Magnolia from 11am-1pm. Sunday, Wonder will be offering 50% off all orders (with code: HIFISHTOWN) – the perfect option for folks coming back from the shore needing to stock their fridge.
Grand opening weekend is entirely open to the public, but the team asks that folks RSVP HERE.
Every $1 from every order placed during opening week will be donated to Philabundance. Wonder’s partnership with Philabundance continues post-opening as well, and is an ongoing partner for all Wonder locations.
