After operating out of a Tempe ghost kitchen for the past few months, Big Bacon’s is getting ready to open a brick-and-mortar in Downtown Phoenix at 719 E. Roosevelt St.

Big Bacon’s will take over the 1,277-square-foot historic property near the intersection of 7th Street and East Roosevelt Road to bring its authentic Chicago cuisine to the Historic Garfield District, according to a news release. NAI Horizon facilitated the long-term lease for a restaurant bringing home-cooked food from Chicago to Downtown Phoenix’s famous Roosevelt Row. NAI Horizon’s Jay Mininberg, J.D., represented the landlord, Zheng Feng Qing and Chen Guowen of Phoenix, in the lease.

“This is exciting news for Roosevelt Row,” Mininberg said in a press release. “It’s a pleasure to represent ownership and work with Big Bacon’s to welcome them to the neighborhood. I wish them much success in a part of Downtown Phoenix where I know they will flourish.”

Big Bacon’s been operating out of a ghost kitchen in Tempe. It is known for its authentic Chicago soul food, including stuffed jerk burgers, fried chicken, fried pork chop sandwiches, and various seafood dishes, such as salmon and catfish. This new location will be great for the company, considering Downtown Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row Arts District 23 is home to restaurants, art galleries and spaces, street art, bars and nightlife, and apartment communities. Roosevelt Row is also home to the monthly Phoenix First Friday art walk, in which studios open their doors, live musicians play, and vendors offer food and beverages. Big Bacon’s will move into the former home of Dos Pink later this year.

“Are you a typical Chicagoan who craves authentic Chicago cuisine? Big Bacons is the restaurant to visit,” according to the company’s website. “We serve classic, home-cooked Chicago meals. Our restaurant is a fantastic option for healthy and flavorful meals. We serve everything from chicken to beef, seafood to pork, baked veggies to beverages. We also serve appetizers.”
