Ghost Donkey, a Mexican-themed restaurant focusing on tequila and mezcal, is getting ready to take over the northeast corner of E Garfield and N 2nd Street later this year.
The restaurant, according to recent reporting from Mouth By Southwest, is going into a portion of the never-opened Punch Bowl Social along with two other concepts.
Ghost Donkey first came into fruition out in New York City in a location that has since been permanently closed. However, they also have locations in the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, a recently opened location out in Denver, and an international location in Auckland, New Zealand.
The menu offers various nibbles with four specialty types of nachos as the main event: wild mushroom, truffle, mole chicken, and chorizo. The cocktail side of things only offers drinks of a tequila or mezcal fashion, and includes signatures like the Ay Papi with montelobos mezcal and blanc vermouth and the Highland Tonic with Patron silver and Hoja Santa sherbet.
Ghost Donkey is owned by the AvroKO Hospitality Group founded by Kristina O’Neal, William Harris, Greg Bradshaw and Adam Farmerie.
What Now Phoenix reached out to O’Neal on Friday for more information on an opening date, but she was unavailable by phone. However, the Mouth By Southwest report says it’s slated for late 2021.
