HB Protein Smoothies is preparing to expand into Gilbert through local franchisees Michael and Samantha Marquez, according to a recent report from QSR Magazine.
The Arizona couple, who were customers of the brand before becoming franchise operators, plan to bring the high-protein smoothie concept to their own community as the company continues growing across the state.
The Gilbert expansion comes as the brand deepens its Arizona presence and pursues broader franchise growth. Founded by father-and-son team Daniel and Ethan Boone, HB was developed around the idea that nutrition-focused beverages can deliver both performance and flavor.
For Michael and Samantha, the decision to invest in the brand came from both personal experience and business appeal. The pair were drawn to HB’s streamlined operating model and franchise economics.
Michael, an entrepreneur with experience operating multiple businesses, cited low food costs and operational simplicity as major factors behind the decision, while Samantha’s nearly decade-long background in food and beverage further reinforced the appeal of the concept’s simplified training model.
HB Protein Smoothies’ menu includes more than 75 flavors, with smoothies typically delivering between 35 and 50 grams of protein and roughly 250 to 400 calories. Alongside traditional protein smoothies, the menu also features vegan blends made with pea, chia and brown rice protein, plus grab-and-go items such as plant-based protein balls.
HB’s growth is supported by franchise development company Fransmart, known for helping expand concepts including The Halal Guys, QDOBA, and Five Guys. The company continues pursuing franchise growth nationwide as it expands into additional markets.
