Phoenix Taco Restaurant Closing Location as New Sonoran-Inspired Concept Takes Over

Joyride Central has announced its upcoming closure, inviting the community for a last ride.

Joyride Taco House is closing its Central Phoenix restaurant next month. The closure comes as part of a collaboration between two well-known Arizona restaurant groups, bringing a new concept.

Joyride Taco House is Closing Its Doors in Central Phoenix

Joyride Taco House Phoenix restaurant known for its modern Mexican menu. The restaurant serves tacos, margaritas, and Mexican-inspired dishes in a casual dining setting.

The restaurant announced that its Central Phoenix location will close on August 2, 2026. Until then, Joyride is celebrating every Tuesday as Taco Tuesday.

The post reads, “BIG thank you to our crew + everyone who made this spot so special. To celebrate, it’s Taco Tuesday every day from 2 PM to close at Central until August 2nd.”

The restaurant is only closing its Central location, and Joyride East in Gilbert will continue operating. Customers can continue visiting the Gilbert location for Joyride’s menu offerings.

According to an Axios Phoenix, Joyride’s parent company, Upward Projects, has partnered with Chiwas Hospitality Group to introduce a new concept in the space. The collaboration is bringing a new restaurant concept, Lado A Lado. This restaurant will open in the space currently occupied by Joyride Central.

The new concept will feature wood-fired Sonoran-inspired Mexican cuisine. It will also include live-fire cooking, a coastal raw bar, and family-style shared meals.

Community Bids Farewell to the Restaurant

Customers shared reactions to the closure on social media. They shared their reactions in comments on the restaurant’s announcement post. Some customers also showed their interest in the upcoming concept.

One customer wrote on Instagram, “So sad to see Joyride go! Any hints on the new concept?”

Another customer wrote, “The staff here was always the best. AND the nachos are fire. My kids are going to be devastated!”

Joyride Taco House is preparing to serve its last customers in Central Phoenix. Longtime customers have a few weeks left to revisit the neighborhood favorite before it closes.
