Starbucks, the fast-growing national coffee chain with sites worldwide, is preparing to open a new location in Mesa at 3543 S Ellsworth Rd.

The company recently submitted documentation for approval to open a new standalone site across from Dignity Health—Arizona General Hospital Mesa. There is no exact opening date for this new Mesa location, considering plans still need to be approved, and the location will be built from the ground up. While Starbucks has locations throughout Phoenix, even with multiple locations in Mesa, the company found a sweet spot that doesn’t have a Starbucks within a two-mile radius.

Just beyond that radius, there are an additional six Starbucks, making it one of the most densely populated cafes in the city. These locations recently announced new iced lavender beverages, which arrived in U.S. Starbucks last week. The new drinks, Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha and Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte, are made with proprietary lavender powder and are perfect for the upcoming Spring season.

“When creating the new Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha, we wanted to capture the uplifting energy of spring in a cup,” Patrick Penny, a lead beverage developer, said in a press release. “The vibrant green matcha topped with lavender-hued cold foam delivers a delightfully colorful and unexpectedly delicious flavor combination. We aimed to create a really balanced, delicious beverage. The oatmilk and the Blonde Espresso make a lovely pairing, providing a smooth, well-rounded profile that is complemented by the floral and vanilla flavors of lavender.”
