Honey & Ash Salon plans to open in Gilbert in fall 2027, founder Caitlyn Luhmann confirmed to What Now Phoenix. The salon will be near Greenfield Road. An exact address has not yet been announced.
Before then, Luhmann will move her appointments from Awsum Salon to a suite at 1511 S. Higley Road, Suite 101, where she will work under the Honey & Ash Salon name.
Luhmann has spent 14 years working as a hairstylist, including time in California’s Bay Area and Los Angeles. She currently takes appointments at Awsum Salon in Gilbert, specializing in blonding, red hair color, and textured cuts.
For Honey & Ash, she wants to give stylists room to develop their careers through continued education and collaboration, she wrote on Instagram.
Services are expected to include custom color, highlights, haircuts, extensions, and blowouts. Luhmann’s current booking menu also includes balayage, root touch-ups, and smoothing treatments.
Luhmann also plans to carry Maria Nila products, a choice with a family connection. Her sister-in-law, Megan, who died of cancer in April, loved horses. She rode, competed, and spent much of her time at the barn.
In an Instagram post, Luhmann recalled how important that place became during Megan’s illness. It gave her somewhere to ride, be with her horses, and take a break from what she was going through.
When Luhmann learned that Maria Nila’s 2026 Be Friendly charity project supports Skydog Ranch & Sanctuary, which rescues wild mustangs and burros, the partnership immediately meant something to her. Carrying the brand at Honey & Ash became a small way to honor Megan’s memory through the salon she is creating.
“Megan would have loved this haircare line and everything it stands for,” she wrote.
