ALDI is expanding its grocery store presence in Arizona with a new location. The retailer is preparing to launch its latest Mesa store on October 22. Customers can get a wide range of fresh produce, groceries, and exclusive-brand products. The opening is part of the company’s plan to have 3,200 stores by the end of 2028.
ALDI Sets Opening Date for New Mesa Store
The new store is located at 6853 E. Elliot Road in Mesa, Arizona. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, ahead of the store’s opening to customers. Regular hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
In celebration of the opening, the first 200 customers at the Mesa store will receive a gift bag. It will contain a sampling of ALDI-exclusive products along with a gift card through the company’s Golden Ticket giveaway program.
A regional spokesperson will be available on opening day to answer questions and lead tours of the store.
“At our new Mesa ALDI store, shoppers will notice a smaller, easy-to-shop store layout filled with a carefully selected range of products to provide them with exactly what they need,” said Shawn Eddy, regional vice president for ALDI. “As more people look for better ways to stretch their dollar further, we’re excited to bring quality groceries at the lowest possible prices to Mesa.”
What Shoppers Can Expect at the New ALDI
The new location will follow ALDI‘s smaller store format, featuring products in a layout designed to make shopping more efficient. According to the company, its approach to store operations is aimed at helping keep prices low while offering customers required groceries and essentials.
Exclusive Products and Grocery Selection
According to the company, about 90% of the products it sells are ALDI-exclusive brands. Its selection includes fresh produce, cheese, organic meats, seafood, wine, and other grocery items.
Quarter-Operated Shopping Carts
ALDI uses a quarter-operated cart system, where customers insert a quarter to use a cart and get it back when they return it. This helps employees focus on other tasks in the store and reduces costs.
Self-Bagging and Sustainability
ALDI customers bag their own groceries at checkout, which helps reduce costs and offer savings to shoppers. The company was also the first major U.S. retailer to remove single-use plastic shopping bags at checkout.
Mesa customers can get grocery delivery and curbside pickup options along with the option to place orders through the retail brand’s online shopping platform or its delivery partners.
While the company continues to expand, local shoppers have another option for buying groceries and everyday essentials.
