The Book Haul plans to open a bookstore at Jefferson House in downtown Peoria, Phoenix New Times reports.

The development at 8310 W. Jefferson Street is targeting a November 2026 opening, according to its website. The bookstore has not announced an opening date.

Owner Traci Vopalensky started The Book Haul in February 2025 as a mobile bookshop she could run alongside her work as a nurse practitioner. She sells new and used books at local markets and pop-ups. Customers can find romance, fantasy, and thriller titles on the shelves.

Jefferson House is a partnership between Banquet Hospitality Group, the team behind The Churchill, and the city of Peoria. The development will have restaurants and retail spaces around a shared courtyard, with covered seating for more than 300 people, a bar, a live music stage, and a splash pad.

What Now Phoenix reached out to The Book Haul but did not hear back by the time of this publication. This article may be updated as more information becomes available.
