“Muselet Will Close This Weekend,” began a report by Eater Portland published in July 2016. The wine bar had been named one of the 100 best wine bars in the country by Wine Enthusiast in 2015.

In the years since, the name has never fully disappeared from the Portland restaurant world, and now a comeback may just be in order.

This week, What Now came across submitted liquor licensing paperwork submitted by Muselet owner Ron Acierto for Le Muselet, a new restaurant to open at 151 SW First Ave C in Portland.

The restaurant’s projected operating hours are 2-10 p.m. Mon-Thurs and 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday (Sunday remains TBD), with restaurant seating for 50, plus an additional 16 seats outdoors, the paperwork says.

What Now contacted Ron Acierto on Thursday to ask about plans for a new instantiation of Muselet. Acierto declined to comment at this time.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
