Michael Jordan’s Steak House, one of the headliner restaurants at Ilani Casino, closed last weekend after nine years at the resort, which opened in 2017. But steak is by no means off the Ilani Casino menu. According to coverage by The Oregonian, a new steakhouse called Sovereign will be replacing Michael Jordan’s Steak House next month.

Kara Fox LaRose, president and general manager at Ilani said in a press release cited in the coverage that Sovereign will be “bringing forward a dining experience that is both elevated and deeply rooted in cultural connection, sustainability and respect… We are grateful for our shared purpose and consider the legendary steak house an inspiration as we continue our quest to grow and to delight our guests on every visit.”

Featuring a “contemporary casual” atmosphere that will make it “the perfect setting for celebrations and elevated weekly dining,” Sovereign will serve “USDA Choice and Prime cuts and regional Wagyu offerings.”

Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
