“A new aura is coming to Portland,” says the website of Aura Dorada, a new restaurant project from Natalia Martinez and Jorge Andrade that promises to bring together the community-gathering vibes of a cafe with the intimate setting of a cocktail bar. That is to say, Aura Dorada will switch seamlessly between the two through the course of each day:
“By morning, Aura Dorada welcomes the city with exceptional coffee, warm energy, and a place where conversations begin,” says the website. “As the sun sets, the space evolves into an intimate cocktail bar, offering thoughtfully crafted drinks, curated music, and an atmosphere designed for connection.”
The website says Aura Dorada will be situated “in the heart of downtown,” although as Bridgetown Bites notes, no specific location has yet been revealed.
“As a 100% Latino-owned concept, Aura Dorada proudly celebrates the heritage, creativity, and passion that inspire everything we do — from our hospitality style to the flavors and stories behind our drinks,” the online description continues. “We are also deeply committed to our city. Aura Dorada partners with local Portland roasters, distilleries, and craft producers to showcase the incredible talent that exists right here in Oregon. Our goal is simple: to elevate local brands while delivering a unique, high-quality experience to everyone who walks through our doors.”
What Now reached out to Jorge Andrade on Monday to ask about plans for Aura Dorada’s opening. Andrade was not immediately available for comment.
