A new Thai bar and restaurant, Kha Moo, is coming to Southeast Portland, according to a liquor license application filed with the city. The upcoming restaurant is set to open on 6618 SE Powell Blvd., which is currently occupied by another Thai restaurant, Thai Avenue.

Kha Moo is registered under Nick Pattaramekanon, who is also affiliated with Thai restaurant La Moon Khao Man Gai in the Foster-Powell neighborhood. Kha Moo’s Instagram page offers a glimpse into the upcoming restaurant’s menu, featuring pictures of the titular Kha Moo, a braised pork leg dish over rice that practically melts in your mouth. Or perhaps you’d prefer the other end of the texture spectrum, which Kha Moo also has covered, offering crisp beer and even crispier pork belly.

Kha Moo’s space will seat 50 people, open from 12:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. The upcoming restaurant doesn’t have an opening date as of yet, save for a promise that it’s opening soon. What Now Portland has reached out for more information.
