A new applicant is seeking space at the current Carina Lounge in Portland.

A liquor license application under the trade name Constantinople Restaurant was recently submitted for 410 NW 21st Avenue in Portland. This is the site of Carina Lounge which opened in 2017. At the time, it replaced Basta’s Trattoria and Bar.

Nedim Korkmaz is the listed applicant, and he is also the owner of Nomadic Vintage PDX, a store which sells hand-woven rugs from vendors in Turkey. As the new restaurant has Constantinople in the name, it may be a nod to the region where the store bases their products.

On Carina Lounge’s menu, there are currently flatbreads, salads, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and desserts. The menu for this new restaurant has not yet been released.

The address is across the street from Ken’s Artisan Bakery, Top Burmese cuisine, and near other bars on NW 21st Avenue. This is on the south side of Nob Hill on the west side of the city.

Their listed hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Carina Lounge has outdoor dining, but it is not known whether there will be outdoor dining. There has been no announcement of Carina Lounge closing or changing locations.

What Now Portland has reached out to the owner, and this article may be updated.
