According to an article from the Portland Eater, Sesame Collective will be opening Bar Dolly in the former Icarus space at 1215 SW Alder Street.

“Our goal opening date is sometime in mid-July. We are excited about this opening because we are putting a lot into rebuilding the space. It will have a timeless feel to it and will have lots of warm colors from the copper tables, exposed brick, and walnut wood bar and booths,” Executive Chef and Co-owner Kasey Mills told What Now Portland.

“The bar is across the street from the old presbyterian church that was built in the 1886. So, the whole thought was to sip on wine and eating pasta in a timeless bar while staring at the architecture of the old church.”

“We will have an extensive wine list featuring wines from all over the Mediterranean along with twist on classic cocktails and a few special menu items. Including some bar snacks like a a salumi plate, cheese plate and even a special burger created by our in-house chef team at Dolly Olive,” Kasey added.

According to the Portland Eater article that was previously mentioned, “Bar Dolly, taking over the former Icarus space this July, will be an extension of the restaurant group’s successful Italian restaurant next door, Dolly Olive, with a broader, more Mediterranean wine list and a range of classic cocktails and spritzes.”

“The bar will be similarly generalist in approach, with a bit of an Italian lilt. A menu of spritzes will include classics like Aperol spritzes and Biciclettas, as well as ones made with lambrusco and house-made limoncello. The house Negroni gets its acidic touch from cranberry grenadine, served in an individual capped bottle for tableside pours, while the hazelnut whiskey sour’s nuttiness comes from a Frangelico cordial.”

“The margaritas are bolstered with Montenegro. As is true of most Sesame Collective restaurants, Bar Dolly will offer a range of nonalcoholic drinks, including Pathfinder spritzes, tarragon highballs, and Phony Negronis.”
