Movement Climbing, Yoga & Fitness is opening a 31,000-square-foot bouldering gym inside the former Nordstrom space at 11900 SE 82nd Ave in Clackamas Town Center, with an opening targeted for 2027. The facility will include expansive bouldering terrain, a boutique-style yoga studio, dedicated fitness areas, cardio equipment, and a fully stocked gear shop, according to the company’s own announcement.

Movement describes itself as the largest nationwide network of climbing gyms with integrated yoga and fitness, built around a mix of bouldering, top rope and lead climbing alongside broader fitness and wellness programming. The Clackamas location will complement Movement’s existing Portland gym, giving the company a second Oregon foothold and extending access to climbing, yoga and fitness programming for residents throughout the southeastern Portland metro area.

The former Nordstrom building has sat vacant since 2020, when the retailer closed 16 stores nationwide during the pandemic. At 120,000 square feet total, the space is now being divided among several new tenants rather than replaced with a single anchor. Movement will share the building with an indoor trampoline park from Sky Zone and an indoor playground from Kids Empire, both set to open on other floors of the same building as part of a broader push to bring new life to the long empty space.
