Free People is heading to Washington Square Mall at 9585 SW Washington Square Road in Tigard, with an opening planned for this fall as part of a wave of new retailers joining the mall’s ongoing multi-phase renovation. The Philadelphia-born women’s lifestyle brand will bring its signature mix of bohemian apparel, shoes, and accessories to one of Oregon’s busiest and best-performing shopping centers.

The timing is no coincidence. Washington Square is in the middle of its most ambitious refresh in years, with mall owner Macerich pouring investment into a modernized food court, updated lighting, new flooring, and an expanded retail lineup. Free People joins Vuori, SUKOSHI, and Portland Gear as part of a fresh wave of brands making Washington Square their Oregon home in 2026, with the biggest addition still to come — a Dick’s House of Sport anchoring a brand-new wing where the old Sears once stood, expected to open in fall 2027.

Founded in 1970 in Philadelphia and now part of the URBN family of brands alongside Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie, Free People has built a loyal following for its vintage-inspired prints, flowing silhouettes, and a brand identity that has always leaned into creativity and self-expression. The Washington Square location will offer the brand’s full range of women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories.
