Thirdlove is opening a store at Washington Square Mall, according to the mall’s own directory, which lists the space as under construction on the mall’s first level. The San Francisco-based intimates brand, founded in 2013 by Heidi Zak and Rael Cohen, built its name online before expanding into physical stores in recent years.
The mall sits at 9585 SW Washington Square Rd in Tigard, just outside Portland. It has been undergoing a broader renovation effort, described on its website as “Our Refresh,” part of a push by mall owner Macerich to bring in new tenants and update common areas.
Thirdlove built its brand around fit, best known for inventing the half cup size to give women more options between standard sizes. The company’s current lineup includes bras, underwear, activewear, sleepwear and loungewear, all designed with input from women. In-store, shoppers can work with stylists trained to help them find the right fit, a service the brand has leaned on heavily as a way to stand apart from other intimates retailers.
This marks the brand’s first standalone store in the Portland area, adding to a small but growing list of physical locations across the country after years as an online-only retailer. The company has said in past interviews that its retail expansion has been deliberate, opening stores gradually rather than all at once.
