A Bay Area-based chain, RAW Superfoods Cafe, is taking over the vacant space at 1600 Ethan Way, Suite 60 in the Howe ‘Bout Arden shopping center. The 1,307-square-foot space was previously occupied by dessert shop CREAM, which closed in January. The new cafe is expected to open in February 2024.
RAW Superfoods is known for its plant-based menu. The company opened its first location in Milpitas in 2018, and has expanded into more markets including Fremont, San Jose, and Elk Grove. According to co-founder Catherine Trinh, the chain has repeatedly received customer requests suggesting a location in Sacramento after opening a to-go location Elk Grove in 2022.
Trinh founded RAW with partner Quan Nguyen going through personal health crises and finding positive results by adopting a plant-based diet. The chain’s mission is to empower and encourage customers to take control of their health.
Howe ‘Bout Arden is a 370,977-square-foot retail center along the Arden shopping corridor. Major retailers in the center include Nordstrom Rack, Home Goods, Michaels, The Container Store, and Burlington, providing ample foot traffic for the upcoming cafe.
By the time of this coverage, Trinh had not replied to What Now Sacramento‘s request for comments.
