According to an online announcement at Sacramento State University, the much-anticipated Habit Burger Grill at the University Union is delayed to the spring semester of 2024 due to construction. Habit Burger will take over the former space of Buzz Burger in the Hornet’s Nest.

Sacramento State University’s food tenants are managed by Hornet Hospitality Group. Current residents include national chains like Starbucks, Subway, Panda Express, and smaller shops including Ace Sushi, Good Eats, Engrained Restaurant, and more. The group handles all things dining on the Sac State campus, including meal plans, catering orders, and hiring.

The Habit Burger Grill is a Santa Barbara-based franchise known for its charburgers and sandwiches. The chain currently has 252 restaurants in California, 12 of which are in the Greater Sacramento area. The Sac State location will be the chain’s 13th Sacramento-area restaurant.
