The owner of Chando’s Tacos, a chain with several locations in California, is bringing a concept to K Street.

Chando’s Cantina Zazon Del Mar is coming to 730 K Street, the Sacramento Business Journal reported.

Chando’s Cantina operated at 805 15th Street until August 2023. Now, the concept is making its return at a historic building in Sacramento.

Founder Lisandro “Chando” Madrigal is excited about the location.

We’re excited about it being in an iconic building,” he told What Now Sacramento. “There’s a lot of  businesses that complement that. It’s gonna be a cool place to pregame or go to after events.”

He told What Now Sacramento they are targeting a mid-March soft opening. They will serve Mexican seafood, different types of meat, and traditional Mexican dishes.

Jorge Barba and Madrigal’s son, Carlos Madrigal, are also part of the team behind the new restaurant.

The space used to be occupied by a Jewish delicatessen that rebranded into a diner called Solomon’s. It closed last year.
