An ABC10 article announced that a new Starbucks location in Fairfield has received unanimous approval from the city’s planning commission. The new Starbucks is located on Travis Boulevard, within a mile of three other Starbucks locations. Other businesses nearby, including Peet’s Coffee and Dutch Bros Coffee, also serve similar items.

The reason behind adding another Starbucks so closely to three other existing locations is to ease the burdens the other locations face and offer more dining options to customers since the new Starbucks will have a standalone double-entrance dine-in area on top of the two drive-through lanes, instead of just being a drive-through or being situated inside another business, as one of the Starbucks counter is housed inside Barns & Noble. However, the commission did express concern regarding traffic and the close proximity to other similar businesses.

The new Starbucks will operate from 4 a.m. to midnight. The dine-in area can seat approximately 25 to 30 people inside and there will be 17 parking spaces in the parking lot. The existing building at 2980 Travis Boulevard will be demolished for the development of the new Starbucks, according to meeting records. Popular Thai restaurant Bintoh Thai, which currently occupies the site address, has announced its last day being November 20th, and their plan to move to a different address on their website.

As of now, there is no anticipated time when the new Starbucks will open. A representative from the company was not available for comments.
