A San Francisco-based superfoods shop is planting roots in Sacramento.
Palmetto Superfoods will take over unit 904-009 at 440 Howe Ave in Campus Commons‘ UV center, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. The 1,150 square foot counter-service eatery will offer both indoor and outdoor seating, along with a vibrant, health-forward menu of Brazilian açaí bowls and superfruit smoothies.
Marketing coordinator Sheana Soriano told What Now Sacramento that while fan-favorite seasonal specials—like February’s Let Me Love You smoothie—aren’t going anywhere, the brand is also rolling out a new line of sparkling refreshers that will become permanent additions to the menu.
The Sacramento shop will launch in partnership with local collaborators, who divide their time between the Bay Area and Sacramento. “Because we split time between the two, I’ve got a good understanding of the culture and the diverse food scene in Sacramento,” said one of the partners. “We just feel like a concept like this would do very well.”
The partners have been loyal fans of Palmetto Superfoods since its 2019 debut. “We actually lived around the corner from their flagship location… and went to the grand opening,” they shared. “[We’ve] been fans since the beginning.”
The brand currently operates eight locations across the Bay Area, including shops in San Francisco, Walnut Creek, San Jose, Palo Alto, and Burlingame.
While Palmetto Superfoods is focused on launching this first location for now, the company plans to expand its footprint across the region over the next five to ten years, with the team eyeing potential future locations in Davis, Elk Grove, and Roseville.
The Sacramento shop is currently in the planning and permitting phase and is scheduled to open in late summer 2025.
