A local roastery will soon launch a tasting room and café.

After months of permit delays, Placer Roasting Company is finally getting ready to pour its first cup at 4780 Granite Dr, Suite 300 in Rocklin. Nestled among neighbors like Jamba Juice, Milo’s Greek Food, and Fit Body Boot Camp, the new café will be the first storefront for the local roastery.

Husband-and-wife Shawn and Katie Clouse launched Placer Roasting Company in the summer of 2024, blending a passion for small-batch, single-origin coffee with their guiding motto: “Good people making good coffee.” Their new space will serve as both the café and roastery, with all beans roasted fresh on-site.

Katie told What Now Sacramento that the café will offer a menu brimming with locally roasted coffees, specialty espresso-based drinks, and pastries, along with packaged beans and cold brew concentrate to enjoy at home.

“We are a local family and passionate about more than just coffee,” Katie explained. “We’re dedicated to giving back and helping build our community through the love of coffee.”

Placer Roasting Company is expected to welcome guests in late June 2025.
