Sacramento is welcoming a new Nashville hot chicken restaurant franchise. Jason Li, the franchisee, is opening a Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken & Wings at 4001 Freeport Blvd., Suite 110, in Sacramento. The place was previously occupied by the eatery Ramendou. The location is only weeks away from opening.

Li is a seasoned restaurant operator and runs a few other restaurants in the market, including Taichi Bubble Tea on Folsom Boulevard in East Sacramento and Mr. Crab Seafood Grill & Bar in Natomas. Hangry Joe’s will offer a Korean-style Nashville hot chicken menu that is 100% halal.

The upcoming Hangry Joe’s is in the Stone Pointe Shopping Center, owned by Petrovich Development Company. The 1,100-square-foot space is within walking distance from Sacramento City College. This will be the first Hangry Joe’s location in California, though the franchise is also working on restaurants in San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, Santa Ana, and San Jose.

While Li is not associated with the other locations in the work, he hopes to expand the franchise deeper into the Greater Sacramento Area. Secondary markets under consideration include Woodland, Roseville, and Folsom.
