A Northern California sandwich shop known for its fresh-baked bread is expanding to Davis.
Sourdough Bread Company is preparing to open a new location in the Fifth Street Plaza shopping center at 2880 5th St, Suite 100A, according to the company’s website. The eatery’s Facebook page teases that the outpost is “coming soon.”
The growing fast-casual concept currently operates six locations across the region, including sites in El Dorado Hills, Redding, Roseville, and Sunnyvale, with additional sites in development for Davis, Redding, and Monterey.
At the heart of the brand is its signature sourdough bread, baked fresh in front of guests. Diners can expect a lineup of nearly 20 sandwiches, spanning classics like the Pastrami and Ham to heartier options such as the Smoked Brisket and French Dip.
“Our business model works only on two key aspects,” reads the website. “One is the freshness and the second is the quality. Only the top quality pastrami, roast beef, premium turkey and chicken, sliced thin and layered thick with crisp, fresh, produce for every sandwich.”
Beyond sandwiches, the menu features a selection of salads and a rotating roster of daily soups, including Clam Chowder, Tomato Basil, French Onion, Fire Roasted Vegetable, and Lasagna Turkey Sausage.
An official opening date has not yet been announced, but the Davis location will be operated by Tracy-based owner Nav Nijjar, according to reporting from Wendy Weitzel’s Comings & Goings newsletter. The restaurant is currently hiring for multiple positions ahead of its debut.
