A new spot for Mexican street food is headed to Davis.
According to leasing documents, Tequileros Taqueria has signed on for a 1,432-square-foot space at The Davis Collection, an open-air retail center that’s currently under construction in the suburb. The restaurant will open in Suite 120 on the south pad, backing up to Russell Blvd.
Owner Edgar Gomez launched Tequileros as a single taco truck in Lodi in 2021. The concept caught fire almost instantly, quickly growing into a fleet of trucks and brick-and-mortar restaurants across Sacramento, Elk Grove, Vacaville, Galt, Lodi, Stockton, Manteca, and Salida, plus a Tequileros Cantina in Lodi.
The menu features a colorful spread of street fare favorites—tacos, tortas, loaded fries, bowls, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas—with proteins ranging from carne asada and birria to chicken, pastor, and shrimp. Veggie options are also available, along with classic sides like rice, beans, and fries.
Inside at the Davis outpost, diners can expect Tequileros’ signature look: walls draped in faux greenery, cheeky neon signs, and an upbeat, Instagram-ready vibe.
Once it debuts, Tequileros Taqueria will join a slew of upcoming eateries at The Davis Collection, including Shah’s Halal Food, 88 Bao Bao, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, and Calicraft Brewing Company.
Gomez could not be reached for comment at the time of publication, so stay tuned for official grand opening updates.
