L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is bringing its island-style comfort food to Davis.
Franchisee Benny Hom is opening the fifth regional location in the recently redeveloped Davis Collection center at 737-885 Russell Blvd.
Originally founded in 1952 as L&L Dairy in Honolulu and rebranded to L&L Hawaiian Barbecue in 1999, the franchise now boasts more than 230 locations throughout the U.S. and Japan. It’s best known for its hearty Hawaiian plate lunches, showcasing a fusion of Asian and American flavors. Fan favorite dishes include the Chicken Katsu, Loco Moco, and Kalua Pork with Cabbage.
“Davis has a vibrant and diverse community, and we’re honored to be a part of it,” said Josie Akana, Vice President of Franchising at L&L, in a statement to What Now Sacramento. “We’re thrilled to bring the flavors of Hawaii to Davis—from our signature plate lunches to the aloha spirit that defines who we are. Our franchisee, Benny Hom, and his team are passionate about great food and even better service, and I’m confident they’ll be a true asset to the community. We can’t wait to share a taste of the islands with everyone who walks through our doors.”
The new eatery is projected to debut in October 2025, joining a growing roster of dining destinations at the center, including Urban Plates, The Melt, Shah’s Halal Food, 88 Bao Bao, and Mendocino Farms.
