An East Hollywood-based Nashville hot chicken chain is heading to Elk Grove.
The Angry Chickz is opening its second Sacramento-area location at 9624 Bruceville Rd, Suite 102 in the Elk Grove Commons shopping center. Though the brand offers franchising opportunities, a representative for the eatery told What Now Sacramento that this location will be company-owned, and it’ll span about 3,000 square feet.
The chain’s origin story dates back to 2017, when founder David Mkhitaryan took his first bite of Nashville hot chicken—and it was love at first burn. According to The Angry Chickz website, he was instantly hooked.
After a year of tinkering with the recipe, Mkhitaryan opened the first Angry Chickz in East Hollywood in 2018. Today, the company operates 29 locations across California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas.
The menu focuses on fiery favorites like sliders, tenders, and bowls, available in spice levels ranging from “Country” (no heat) to “Angry” (so hot you have to sign a waiver). Comfort food classics like mac and cheese and coleslaw are also on deck.
The Angry Chickz is expected to open its Elk Grove doors on June 27, 2025, said the representative.
