A new mixed-use development consisting of a BBQ restaurant and apartments have broken ground in Redding earlier this month. The new project, called The Ribcage, is located on the corner of Market Street and Shasta with an 18-month construction forecast. This news has been covered by several other outlets.
The Ribcage is the new project by Jason Odell, owner of the popular Odell’s Craft BBQ that sits on the opposite corner of Market and Shasta at 1300 Market St Ste 102. The project, being spearheaded by K2 Development, includes a 3,600-square-foot, two-story restaurant and a one-bedroom, one-bathroom 12-unit apartment complex that will be available at market-rate once complete.
According to information shared by the Redding Chamber of Commerce, the new restaurant will have a patio dining area on the second floor and a full cocktail bar and will open seven days a week. What Now Sacramento reached out to Odell for more details, but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage. Meanwhile, the apartments will be built using shipping container construction methods and are considered “workforce friendly.”
“Already known for serving up the best BBQ in Redding, Jason Odell and his team are taking things to the next level with this exciting expansion, with a projected opening date of 15 to 18 months,” the Redding Chamber of Commerce posted on Instagram.
