Black Lily Naturals is opening its first storefront at 1700 I St, Suite 130, in Midtown Sacramento, with founder Chandra Stewart telling What Now Sacramento that she anticipates opening by the end of September, though a firm date hasn’t been set. The move marks a new chapter for the brand rather than a brand new business, since Black Lily Naturals has operated online and at the Midtown Farmers Market for years.

Stewart started the company in 2014, experimenting in her own kitchen with oils and natural ingredients to make hair, bath, body, and home products for herself and her family. Black Lily Naturals officially incorporated in 2019, building a following around handcrafted coconut wax candles, room sprays, car diffusers, perfume, body butter, and body oil, with scents like Life and Lemons and Lavender Oasis becoming customer favorites.

The new storefront will go beyond retail, according to Stewart. The space will include a candle and fragrance bar where customers can blend their own custom scents and make their own candles, along with classes and workshops built around nearly every product the brand sells. Stewart said it will be the first candle bar concept in Midtown Sacramento, turning the shop into a hands on experience rather than a typical retail stop.

Stewart said she’s counting on the strong customer base Black Lily Naturals has already built in Midtown to carry into the new space. “It’s gonna be a fun place for people to come and connect and build community with others,” she thold What Now.
