The Shell-branded gas station at 730 29th St in Sacramento’s Midtown neighborhood has new ownership. State filings show Hasco Stations LLC, managed through Hasco Holdings LLC, filed for a new liquor license on August 19, transferring from the previous operator, Tooley Oil Company, run by Michael Tooley and Nancy Tooley. This marks the second Sacramento-area Tooley Oil location Hasco has picked up recently, following a separate acquisition of a Tooley owned Shell station on Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights.

Hasco Stations, commonly known as H&S, is an Orange County-based fuel and convenience store operator that has grown quickly since forming in December 2023. The company made headlines earlier this year after acquiring the historic Andretti Petroleum Group’s roughly 170 gas stations and convenience stores across Northern California, Oregon and Washington, a portfolio built by Formula 1 champion Mario Andretti starting in 1997. The company is led by manager Salaheddin F. Hassan and operates a wide network of related entities under names like H&S Energy Group, Hasco Distribution and H&S Stations.

The Midtown Shell station has operated under the Tooley name since 2012, sitting at the corner of 29th and R streets in one of Sacramento’s densest, most walkable neighborhoods, surrounded by bars, restaurants and apartments that keep the area busy well into the evening.
